With Advent upon us and Christmas little more than a week away, this is a natural time to reflect upon the meaning of the season. As is usually the case, I yearn to spend the season of Advent and Christmas being very purposeful about watching and waiting with and for Jesus, but as is usually the case, I find myself so busy that all those good intentions are being stifled. Of course, all is not lost (yet), and soon things will slow down for me at least in regard to work; so I yet hope. In the meantime, I’m glad to support and benefit all the great work of many other Christians and non-Christians alike who likewise would like to see the holiday season be less about consumption and more about love and service to others.
